JEDDAH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Ministry for Health has said that it has set several health requirements in order to prevent diseases during Hajj season, Arab media reported on Wednesday. According to the Ministry of Health, they will take steps to maintain health security and provide preventive services during the Hajj season. It added that the health of the pilgrims would be monitored at fourteen ports of entry to the country via sea, land, and air during the Hajj season.
Disease-Free Hajj
Health authorities said that well-organized health centres are being established to ensure Disease-free Hajj. Arab News reported that the Health Ministry will raise health awareness among Hajj pilgrims upon their arrival in the country. The Ministry will also distribute leaflets and broadcast programs on screens in the halls in Urdu, English and French languages.
Authorities said that health services would be provided at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, at Jeddah Islamic Port, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, Taif International Airport, Prince Abdul Mohsin bin Abdulaziz Airport in Yanbu, Salwa Port, King Fahd Causeway, Al-Batha Port, Empty Quarter Port, Al-Raqa’i Port, Jdeidet Arar Port, Halat Ammar Port, Al-Haditha Port, and Al-Wadiah Port.
The health ministry will also provide other preventive services, including vaccines for the target nations and preventive medical treatment for those arriving from the African countries.
Saudi Health Ministry will also coordinate with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Civil Aviation Organization to ensure that all pilgrims receive immunizations before visiting the Kingdom.
