According to Saudi Arabia’s interior minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, the country’s war against illegal narcotics is having a dramatic impact thanks to significant operations against traffickers and smuggling networks.

Prince Abdulaziz stated, while the campaign is still in its early stages, that the Kingdom “will remain resolute and not leave room for smugglers or dealers to target our youth or tamper with security in any way.” Prince Abdulaziz was speaking during a visit to the Central Operations Room at the ministry’s Riyadh headquarters.

The minister lauded security personnel’s efforts to safeguard the country from the risks posed by illegal substances and urged residents to play their part by reporting traffickers and smugglers, reassuring them that all reports will be treated in confidence.

Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Bassami, director of general security, gave him a briefing on the outcomes of recent anti-drug operations.

Nasser Al-Dawood, the deputy interior minister, Lt. Gen. Saeed Al-Qahtani, the assistant interior minister for operations issues, Hisham Al-Faleh, the ministry’s undersecretary, and Mohammed Al-Muhanna, the undersecretary for security issues, all attended the meeting.
