Saudi Arabia to Participate in GCC Trade Cooperation Committee Meeting

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Trade General Authority will attend the 65th Meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trade Cooperation Committee.

The event is set to take place in Salalah, Oman, on Thursday with the primary objective of bolstering trade and economic ties among GCC member countries.

This meeting serves as a platform for tracking the implementation progress of decisions made during the 64th committee gathering.

Additionally, it will involve discussions regarding ongoing negotiations for free trade agreements with various countries and international trade blocs. The agenda will also encompass various topics of significance.

Fundamental Role of GCC’s Trade Cooperation Committee

Established on October 30, 1982, the Trade Cooperation Committee’s fundamental role is to oversee all matters pertaining to trade that are of interest to GCC states. This encompasses fostering trade development among GCC nations, aligning export and import policies, and harmonizing trade laws and regulations to facilitate the smooth flow of commercial activities for GCC citizens.
