RIYADH: The Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) and the Saudi Cycling Federation have officially signed the Host City Agreement for the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships, confirming Qassim City as the venue for Asia’s premier cycling event from February 5 to 13, 2026, reports Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The signing ceremony in Riyadh was led by Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill, President of the Asian Cycling Confederation and UCI Vice President, alongside Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani, President of the Saudi Cycling Federation.
The event will be staged with full support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting its growing commitment to sports development and its ambition to become a leading destination for international competitions.
The 2026 Championships will feature Elite Men and Women, Under-23, Junior, and Para-Cycling categories, showcasing Asia’s top talent and promoting inclusivity in the sport.

Dato’ Amarjit Singh Gill said the event underscores the region’s rising stature in the global cycling scene:
“We are delighted to see Saudi Arabia — through Qassim City — stepping forward to host this prestigious event with full commitment and vision. This partnership reflects the rapid growth of cycling in the region and aligns with the ACC’s mission to expand the sport’s reach and impact across Asia.”
The Saudi Cycling Federation will also host the ACC Management Committee Meeting on February 11, 2026, followed by the ACC Congress on February 12 in Riyadh, further cementing the Kingdom’s role as a regional hub for the sport.
Saudi Cycling Federation President Abdul Aziz bin Ali Al-Shahrani hailed the development as a milestone moment for the nation:
“Hosting the 2026 Asian Road Cycling Championships in Qassim is a proud moment for Saudi Arabia. It reflects our ambition to make the Kingdom a global destination for cycling and to inspire a new generation of Saudi athletes.”
The 2026 Championships will also serve as a qualifying event for upcoming international competitions, promoting unity, sustainability, and healthy lifestyles across Asia.
The agreement marks another historic collaboration between the ACC and the Saudi Cycling Federation, reaffirming Asia’s shared vision of excellence, inclusivity, and sporting progress.
