Saudi Arabia to Host 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games

JEDDAH: The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) has finalized Saudi Arabia as the host of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2025.

This decision was made during the 39th Board of Directors Meeting of ISSA held in Riyadh on July 7-8.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Sports, and Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Deputy President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, concluded the agreement.

The agreement was confirmed alongside Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Deputy President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheit, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural, and Social Affairs, conveyed congratulations from Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to Saudi Arabia for accepting the hosting responsibilities.

He commended Saudi Arabia’s exceptional preparations aimed at ensuring the success of the upcoming tournament. Ambassador Tarig also expressed gratitude to Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal and the ISSA for their dedicated efforts in promoting youth empowerment and sports across OIC countries.

Highlighting the pivotal role of sports in fostering social integration among youth, combating extremism, and alleviating poverty, Ambassador Tarig urged member states to strengthen collaboration through their National Olympic Committees, ISSA, and the OIC General Secretariat to support the success of the upcoming games and advance the OIC’s objectives in the realm of sports.
