NOUAKCHOTT: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has finalized preparations for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Competition for Memorizing the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
The competition held in collaboration with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education of Mauritania, will take place from October 15 to 19.
Overall, 136 contestants from 16 nations will participate in the competition, which will be judged by a panel of 10 experts.

The competition aims to promote a deeper connection between Muslims in the region and the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. It also intends to highlight Saudi Arabia’s commitment to preserving Islamic heritage and promoting cooperation among Islamic states.
The competition will feature a three-day qualifying round followed by a closing ceremony on October 19. The total prize money for the competition is SAR1,218,000.
