RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Syria have discussed opportunities for economic cooperation in sectors such as energy, industry, infrastructure, and technology.
This came during a meeting between Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Syrian President’s visit to the Kingdom to attend the ninth Future Investment Initiative (FII9) Conference.
During the meeting, they reviewed the ties between the states and explored ways to enhance and develop them across various fields.
They also discussed prospects for economic cooperation in sectors such as energy, industry, infrastructure, and technology, reflecting both leaderships’ commitment to promoting economic stability in Syria and strengthening bilateral relations that fulfil the aspirations of their peoples.
Meanwhile, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz also held a separate meeting with President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the SPA reported.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed relations between the two brotherly countries and discussed specific aspects of cooperation in the security field, along with a number of other topics of common interest.
