RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned continued Israeli violations and incursions inside the Syrian territory, calling them “a flagrant violation of the sovereignty” of Syria.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Tuesday, said these actions, which are taking place amidst the tense situation in As-Suwayda Governorate, are also a violation of international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
Saudi Arabia affirmed its full support for the measures taken by the Syrian government to achieve security and stability in Syria, preserve civil peace, and ensure the sovereignty of the state and its institutions over all Syrian territory.
The Kingdom also rejected any separatist calls to divide Syria. It called on all components of the Syrian people to exercise reason, uphold wisdom and dialogue, and unite to continue building the new Syrian state.

The Kingdom also called on the international community to stand with Syria and to take a firm and serious stance against the ongoing Israeli violations.
Syria on Monday accused Israel of deploying 60 soldiers to seize control of an area within its border near Mount Hermon.
The Syrian government condemned the move as a violation of its sovereignty and warned that it further endangered regional security.
“This dangerous escalation is considered a direct threat to regional peace and security,” said a statement from Syria’s foreign ministry.
A spokesman for the Israeli military said troops carried out routine operational activity in an area of southern Syria but did not operate in Beit Jinn, an area close to the border with Lebanon and near Mount Hermon.
According to the Syrian Ministry, Monday’s incident occurred near a strategic hilltop overlooking Beit Jinn. It was also reported that Israeli forces detained six Syrians in the area.
The development comes amid ongoing US-mediated talks between Syria and Israel aimed at de-escalating tensions in southern Syria.
Damascus is hopeful that a security arrangement could be reached, potentially laying the groundwork for broader political negotiations.
