RIYADH: In a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its support for international efforts to reach a political solution to the Russian-Ukrainian war in a way that preserves global and regional stability.
King Salman presided over the Cabinet meeting at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
During the meeting, the Cabinet reviewed talks between the Kingdom and friendly countries over the last few days to advance and consolidate cooperation.
Saudi state minister and Cabinet member for the Shoura Council affairs, Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Saeed, told the Saudi Press Agency that the Shoura Council discussed several regional and international matters.
Saudi cabinet supports cooperation with regional countries
The Cabinet issued several decisions, including authorizing a deputy or the minister of sports, to hold talks with the Maldives regarding a memorandum of understanding between the Maldivian Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Community Empowerment and the Saudi Ministry of Sports for cooperation.
The cabinet also authorized the minister of human resources and social development to negotiate with the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) Secretariat General regarding an MoU in administrative development and training.
The Cabinet also approved a transit deal among Arab countries and an MoC in intellectual property between the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore and the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property.
It decided to increase the number of board of directors’ members of the National Water Company to ten members, who shall be chaired by the minister of agriculture, environment, and water, and include representatives from the private sector and several government agencies. It also accredited the final account of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority for a previous fiscal year.
