MADINAH: The Madinah Health Cluster has designated a specialised dialysis unit for pilgrims with kidney disease at the King Fahad Kidney Center (KFKC) in Madinah.
This programme aims to provide high-quality medical care that accommodates the pilgrims’ schedules and movements, ensuring easy access to necessary treatment, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The initiative is part of Saudi Arabia’s broader efforts to care for pilgrims by delivering integrated medical services, which enable them to perform their rituals in good health.
The dialysis unit is equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and features 13 advanced dialysis machines, capable of providing more than 26 sessions per day. A team of highly qualified medical professionals ensures the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and patient care.
The Health Cluster conducted prior coordination with medical missions accompanying Hajj campaigns by receiving medical reports detailing each pilgrim’s health condition. This allows dialysis sessions to be scheduled immediately upon the pilgrim’s arrival in Madinah, helping to save time and minimize the burden of transportation.
It is pertinent to mention that the Saudi Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched the second edition of the ‘Manarat Al-Haramain Robot’ at the Grand Mosque to enhance the spiritual experience of pilgrims.
The AI-powered robot acts as an intelligent reference for religious inquiries, offering direct video calls with muftis for unanswered questions.
This year, the annual pilgrimage is expected to take place in June. While the exact number of pilgrims for Hajj 2025 is yet to be confirmed, early projections indicate it could be a record-breaking year, with more than 2.5 million pilgrims expected to participate.
