RIYADH, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman extended their heartfelt condolences to Indian President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday following the devastating landslides in Kerala caused by torrential rains. In separate messages, the Saudi leaders expressed their deep sorrow over the tragic loss of over 300 lives in the disaster, which has also left nearly 200 people missing.
King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed conveyed their hopes for the safe return of the missing individuals and wished a swift recovery to those injured. They also sent their condolences to the bereaved families and the Indian people, reflecting the solidarity of Saudi Arabia with India during this difficult time.
The landslides, which struck the Wayanad district early Tuesday, are considered the most severe in Kerala since the catastrophic floods of 2018. The relentless rains led to torrents of mud and boulders sweeping through residential areas, resulting in a tragic loss of life.
