Both countries renewed the pledge to increase bilateral cooperation in Tourism

Saudi Arabia and Morocco have signed an agreement to “support efforts to achieve sustainable development” in the country’s tourism industry, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

These countries signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the 117th session of the Executive Council of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, to promote the promotion of tourism between the countries. A memorandum of understanding was signed in the presence of the Minister of Tourism Ahmed al-Khateeb and his Moroccan counterpart Fatima-Zahra Ammor.

“The issue of cooperation coincides with Saudi tourism demand, so cooperation with like-minded partners, such as Morocco, helps to make the region our region,” al-Khateeb said. The MoU will allow more investment in tourism in both countries, SPA said.

Saudi Arabia is currently one of Morocco’s trading partners in the Arab world and in 2020 the Kingdom gave $26.6 million to invest in real estate, tourism and agriculture in Morocco, according to the SPA report.
