MINA: The Saudi Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Public Security, in collaboration with the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), has launched an AI powered platform and remote sensing technologies to serve pilgrims during the Hajj season.
The platform represents a major leap forward in digital transformation and surveillance integration, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.
Combining artificial intelligence, remote sensing, and geographic information systems (GIS), it processes high-resolution satellite imagery to provide real-time, comprehensive insights into the Two Holy Mosques and surrounding holy sites.
This cutting-edge system aids decision-makers in managing crowds more effectively, enhancing safety measures, and ensuring the smooth and secure performance of Hajj rituals. It allows authorities to monitor heat zones, detect unusual activity, and analyze both environmental and crowd behaviour. The platform also enables comparisons between current and past Hajj seasons, offering valuable data for planning and improvement.
Additionally, it enhances coordination among various security forces and government agencies, promoting a unified and efficient approach to Hajj management.
