NEW YORK: Saudi Arabia has signed a partnership agreement with the International Organisation for Migration have signed a partnership agreement to improve living conditions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Yemen in 2026.
Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre KSrelief, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, signed the joint executive programme with the Director General of the IMO Amy Pope on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.

Under the programme, shelter kits, tents and enhanced emergency shelter kits will be distributed among internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the most vulnerable groups, benefiting an estimated 13,300 people.
Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen coordination with UN organisations
The agreement is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen coordination with United Nations organisations and humanitarian agencies. The initiative aims to provide displaced people in Yemen with safe and dignified living conditions by delivering essential relief and humanitarian assistance.
KSrelief Supervisor General meets IOM Director General
Earlier, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah met with IOM Director General IMO Amy Pope in New York and discussed issues related to relief and humanitarian affairs and explored ways to enhance cooperation.
She praised the Kingdom’s humanitarian and relief efforts delivered through KSrelief, highlighting the strategic partnership between the centre and the organisation in assisting refugees and forcibly displaced persons worldwide, the SPA reported.
KSrelief has also signed a joint executive programme with the World Health Organisation to purchase and distribute therapeutic response packages for children suffering from severe acute malnutrition across 35 nutritional care centres in Yemen.
The executive programme was signed on Monday by Al-Rabeeah and WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

The programme is part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts, represented by KSrelief, to strengthen cooperation and strategic partnership with WHO to provide medicines, essential equipment and specialised treatment for children suffering from acute malnutrition in countries in need.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) was established under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Inaugurated in May 2015, KSrelief has provided impartial humanitarian aid and relief to over 100 countries in cooperation with local, regional, and international organisations.
