RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has affirmed that the Economic Cooperation Framework with Pakistan reflects a shared vision for building a sustainable partnership in economic, trade, and investment fields.
The Saudi cabinet session, chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, on Tuesday noted that the framework would ultimately serve the aspirations and common interests of both brotherly peoples to consolidate fraternal ties, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The cabinet expressed gratitude to the leaders and heads of government from brotherly and friendly nations who participated in the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) Conference in Riyadh.
It voiced optimism that the conference would help transform shared visions into practical strategies, fostering joint international efforts for global development and prosperity.
The cabinet also reviewed the outcomes of discussions held between Saudi Arabia and several countries around the world, which aimed to strengthen frameworks for bilateral cooperation across various sectors, advance common interests, and enhance coordination on global issues and challenges.
The cabinet affirmed that the agreement with Pakistan to launch an Economic Cooperation Framework is an extension of the two countries’ efforts to consolidate fraternal relations and reflects their shared vision for building a sustainable partnership across various economic, trade, and investment fields.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary said that the cabinet reviewed regional and international developments.
The cabinet reiterated its strongest condemnation of the Israeli Knesset’s approval of two draft laws seeking to impose sovereignty over the West Bank and illegal colonial settlements.
It also reaffirmed the Kingdom’s steadfast support for the legitimate and historical right of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish an independent state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The cabinet further underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving disputes through peaceful means and promoting international peace and security.
In this regard, it welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, describing it as a step towards lasting peace that meets the aspirations of both nations and their peoples.
Additionally, the cabinet reviewed progress in partnerships with international organisations, noting the Kingdom’s planned hosting of the UNCTAD Global Supply Chain Forum in 2026.
It stated that hosting the forum reflects Saudi Arabia’s leading global role in supporting international trade, strengthening cooperation among nations, and enhancing logistical connectivity.
