RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has emerged as the world’s second-largest humanitarian aid contributor and first in the Arab world in 2015, according to the United Nations Financial Tracking Service.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Saudi Arabia’s largest aid recipient was Yemen, with 49.3% of total aid, followed by Syria.

A recently released 2024 report on development assistance shows that the Kingdom ranks second among 16 non-member donor countries and tenth globally in total aid volume among all 48 donor nations, including both members and non-members.

Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, said the Kingdom’s strong standing in global humanitarian efforts reflects its enduring commitment to generosity and the protection of human dignity.

He noted that these figures are recorded in real time on the Saudi Aid Platform, the region’s largest humanitarian aid database.

He added this transparent and systematic approach—supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, has played a key role in securing Saudi Arabia’s international rankings and delivering measurable global impact.

Dr. Al Rabeeah reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia remains a consistent source of humanitarian support and a symbol of goodwill, dedicated under its leadership to assisting people in need across the world.
