RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ approval to construction 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, describing the move as a clear violation of relevant United Nations resolutions and international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement on Tuesday, reiterated the Kingdom’s call on the international community to assume its responsibility to end these violations.

It also affirmed its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and its continued efforts to establish the independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.
Israel’s security cabinet has approved plans to formalise 19 settlements in the occupied West Bank, a move Palestinian officials say further entrenches a decades-long campaign of land appropriation and demographic manipulation.
Israeli media reported on Friday that the decision also includes the reinstatement of two northern West Bank outposts that were dismantled during the 2005 “disengagement” plan.
Palestinian officials condemned the decision, warning that it accelerates Israel’s annexation drive.
Mu’ayyad Sha’ban of the Palestinian Authority described it as another step towards erasing Palestinian geography, saying it underscored growing fears about the future of the territory.
