RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has condemned the escalation of the Israeli military occupation in the northern and southern Gaza and its expansion of operations into large parts of the Strip.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Monday, said this contradicts the will of the international community, human rights law, and United Nations conventions, and hinders the achievement of peace and stability in the region.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its condemnation and denunciation of all ground operations carried out by the Israeli occupation forces, as these threaten the lives of Palestinian civilians and exacerbate the humanitarian suffering of the Gaza population.
The ministry warned of the danger of continuing these flagrant and unjustified violations against the Palestinian people, which violate international law.
Earlier, at least 71 Palestinians were reported killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza since dawn on Monday, according to Al Jazeera.
Gaza’s health ministry has said that at least 3,193 people have been killed since Israel resumed strikes on March 18, taking the war’s overall toll to 53,339.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israeli forces will “take control of all” of the Gaza Strip.
“The fighting is intense, and we are making progress. We will take control of all the territory of the Strip,” he said in a video posted to his Telegram channel. “We will not give up. But in order to succeed, we must act in a way that cannot be stopped.”
