RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the tearing of copies of the Holy Quran by an extremist group in front of some foreign missions in The Hague, Netherlands, Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
Kingdom condemns the reprehensible and recurring acts
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said that the Kingdom condemns the reprehensible and recurring acts that cannot be justified under any circumstances.

It said these acts promote hatred and racism and directly challenge global attempts to promote moderation, tolerance and the rejection of extremism.
It further stated that these actions undermine the basic foundation of mutual respect that is necessary for relationships among peoples and countries.

A leader of the anti-Muslim group Pegida desecrated a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the embassies of some Muslim countries in the Hague.
Edwin Wagensveld ripped apart a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish, Pakistani, and Indonesian embassies in The Hague.
Earlier anti-Muslim groups had committed same kind of shameful and provocative acts in countries like Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
