RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has condemned the continued violence perpetrated by Israeli settlers, under the protection of the occupation forces, against Palestinian civilians in villages in the occupied West Bank.
Dozens of settlers attacked the village of Kafr Malik near Ramallah on Wednesday. Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli security forces and seven were wounded in the violence, Palestinian health officials said.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry, in a statement, condemned the attacks in the village of Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah.
“The Kingdom reiterates its condemnation of the continued Israeli violence against unarmed civilians in Gaza, including the targeting of civilian sites housing displaced persons,” it said.
Since the war started in Gaza in October 2023, killing more than 55,000 people there, violence against Palestinians in the West Bank has also increased.
The Kingdom stressed the need to exert all efforts to provide protection for Palestinian civilians and enable the Palestinian people to exercise all their legitimate rights.
It reiterated its call for the international community to assume its responsibilities to put an end to Israeli violations of international laws and norms.
Meanwhile, a Saudi-based NGO, the Muslim World League (MWL) condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of civilian shelters housing displaced people, the continued violence against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and the brutal attacks carried out by Israeli settlers on the village of Kafr Malik, east of Ramallah.
In a General Secretariat statement, MWL Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars, denounced the ongoing heinous crimes committed against unarmed civilians in the Palestinian territories. He called the attacks a blatant violation of all human values as well as international laws and norms.
Al-Issa emphasised the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities in the face of the occupation government’s continued disregard for the rights, dignity, and humanity of the Palestinian people.
