Qatar and Egypt also condemned the missile attacks. In separate statements, their foreign ministries warned that further escalation could undermine and complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent the region from slipping into further instability.

In a separate development, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces had destroyed five Iranian crude oil carriers after Iranian forces twice targeted a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles over the previous two days.
The developments unfolded amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States over the Strait of Hormuz, despite the signing of a memorandum aimed at reopening the strategic waterway as a step toward a broader peace agreement.
