ISLAMABAD: The Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) of Saudi Arabia has decided that during examinations, no female students will be allowed to wear the customary Saudi women’s clothing i.e. abaya.
Abaya
Abayas is a customary Saudi women’s clothing which is comfortable, stylish and meets the canons of Islam. The Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) emphasized that female students must wear school uniforms during examinations inside examination halls and that the uniform should conform to standards of public decency and strict regulations.
The ETEC, which is also originally called the Education Evaluation Authority, is a Saudi Arabia governmental body in Saudi Arabia that is in-charge of assessing, evaluating, designing, and accrediting training and education systems in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The Commission was founded as a governmental organization in 2017, and it is financially and legally autonomous, directly reporting to the prime minister.
In other news, Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Education and Professional Training, Rana Tanveer Hussain, directed last week that future university financing will be directly linked to the university’s outcomes.
He said this during his visit to the HEC secretariat, where the Higher Education Commission (HEC) chairman, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, briefed him on the commission’s performance over the last 20 years.
