Saudi Arabia Announces Holiday After Football Team’s Victory

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia announced a celebratory holiday on Wednesday after its football team trounced two-time world champions Argentina in a World Cup match on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia’s national team won a World Cup match against Argentina after a sensational game. The Argentinian team led by Lionel Messi failed to score a goal despite several attempts.

According to Aran News, Saudi King Mohammad Salman approved a summary sent to him by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to announce a holiday celebrating the national team’s victory.

According to Saudi Press Agency, all public and private sector employees and students at all educational institutions have been given a holiday to celebrate the victory.

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Education said in a statement that Wednesday’s examinations had been postponed to December 7.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Stock Exchange Tadawul also announced that it would suspend trade on Wednesday in light of the public holiday.
