RIYADH: The Saudi Royal Guard and the Bahrain Royal Guard have started joint security exercise “Haris” in Riyadh on Tuesday.
The combined exercise is part of the continuous cooperation between the Bahrain Royal Guard and the Saudi Royal Guard.
The exercise is carried out under the direct supervision of Lt-Gen Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Bahraini National Security Adviser, Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council and Royal Guard Commander, and General Suhail bin Saqr Al-Mutairi, Saudi Royal Guard Commander.
Maj-Gen Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Omari, head of the operations department and general supervisor of the joint exercise, launched the drills in the presence of all participants and the support staff.
This sector-specific joint exercise is the first of its kind. It emphasizes the close ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as a symbol of togetherness.
The exercise aims to improve collaboration, share military and security know-how between the two friendly nations, and increase participant effectiveness in security tasks, persona protection, weaponry, shooting, and special operations.
