PODGORICA: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, reiterated that the Kingdom does not interfere in the internal affairs of any country while emphasizing its commitment to extending assistance and support to Muslims worldwide.
Speaking during a meeting with the President of the Islamic Sheikhdom and Grand Mufti of Montenegro, Rifaat Vizic, the minister highlighted Saudi Arabia’s dedication to spreading the true teachings of Islam based on moderation and the Quranic principles and the Prophet’s Sunnah.
The meeting, which took place in the Montenegrin capital of Podgorica, marked an official visit by Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh, during which a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Islamic Sheikhdom and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, to enhance cooperation in the field of Islamic affairs.
Saudi Arabia’s Commitment to Serving Islam and Muslims Globally
Minister Al-Sheikh underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to serving Islam and Muslims globally, stating that the visit was in line with the directives of the Saudi leadership to prioritize the welfare of Muslims in Montenegro and foster stronger ties between the two nations. He emphasized the strong friendship and good relations between Saudi Arabia and Montenegro, reflecting the mutual goodwill between the two countries and their peoples.
Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s role as the birthplace of Islam and the custodian of the holy sites, Minister Al-Sheikh expressed the Kingdom’s dedication to connecting with Muslims worldwide. The signing of the agreement with Montenegro aims to strengthen relations, promote friendship, and foster cooperation in various areas.
President Vizic affirmed his country’s eagerness to enhance cooperation with Saudi Arabia and benefit from its extensive experience as the host of the Islamic holy sites. He expressed positive reception from Montenegro’s Muslim community, which represents approximately 25 percent of the country’s population, and expressed hopes for increased collaboration in spreading the values of Islam, emphasizing coexistence, mercy, and tolerance.
