BARCELONA: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah met with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani in Barcelona on Sunday on the sidelines of the Union for the Mediterranean Regional Forum, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The two foreign ministers discussed the situation in the besieged Gaza Strip and other related developments. They stressed the need to adhere to the humanitarian truce and achieve a sustainable and comprehensive ceasefire to safeguard civilians and restore stability and security in Gaza.
The foreign ministers also tackled international efforts to provide medical aid and humanitarian relief to prevent the escalation of the humanitarian crisis in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Saudi Arabia Rejects Forced Displacement in Gaza
The Saudi Foreign Minister stressed the urgent need to establish accessible corridors to quickly deliver aid to Palestinian civilians. He also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s firm rejection of the forced displacement of the population in the Gaza Strip and emphasized the essential role of the international community in taking effective and decisive actions to address the ongoing violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces, which repeatedly disregard humanitarian principles and international law.
The Saudi Ambassador to Spain, Azzam Al-Qain, also attended the meeting.
