RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has intensified its efforts to provide assistance to Somalia, Sudan, Afghanistan, and Yemen, delivering aid and support to those in need.
In Somalia, the center recently distributed 520 food baskets in the Togdheer region, benefiting 3,110 individuals who have been affected by drought. This aid is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of people in the East African country.
In Sudan, KSrelief distributed 350 food baskets to 2,100 individuals in Port Sudan as part of a project aimed at promoting food security and helping those in need.
Saudi Aid Projects in Afghanistan
In Afghanistan, KSrelief provided 1,500 food baskets to flood victims in the Arghandab district of Kandahar province. This aid reached nearly 9,000 people and is part of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to support the Afghan people during challenging times.
In Yemen, 16 relief trucks carrying more than 160 tons of aid, including medical items, tents, and shelter bags, crossed the Al-Wadiah border crossing. The aid will be distributed to the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, Shabwa, Marib, Taiz, Hajjah, and Saada, providing much-needed support to the affected populations.
Since its establishment in May 2015, KSrelief has implemented 2,402 projects worth over $6.2 billion in 92 countries. These initiatives have been carried out in cooperation with 175 local, regional, and international partners.
According to a recent KSrelief report, the countries and territories that have benefited most from the center’s projects include Yemen, with a total value of $4.2 billion, followed by Syria ($372 million), Palestine ($370 million), and Somalia ($256 million).
