NEW YORK: Saudi Aid Agency, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has arranged an exhibition in New York City to showcase the Kingdom’s humanitarian contributions through the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme.
The exhibition was attended by Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Ted Chaiban, UNICEF Deputy Executive Director for Humanitarian Action and Supply Operations, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
Visitors experienced an immersive virtual reality presentation simulating the operating room during the separation of conjoined twins. The display showcased key surgical stages, including anaesthesia, separation, reconstruction, and post-operative cosmetic procedures.
A touchscreen station allowed guests to explore the Saudi Conjoined Twins Programme’s website, which features profiles of the medical team, a video library, and statistics highlighting the completion of 67 separation surgeries and the assessment of 152 cases from 28 countries across five continents.
Another screen featured an English-language film highlighting the programme’s accomplishments and the advanced medical care it provides to conjoined children around the world.
