ISLAMABAD: Former Illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir governor, Satyapal Malik has feared that the frustrated BJP government in India could even stage a murder of some important leader of their own party for political gains.

Satyapal Malik was the last governor of the Indian Illegally-occupied Jammu and Kashmir before it was divided and reduced to Union territory status.

In an interview, he made explosive revelations on the Pulwama attack, saying that the Indian government’s strategy was always to blame Pakistan and reap electoral gains.

Malik was the governor of the occupied territory during the Pulwama terrorist attack of February 2019 and the scrapping of Article 370 in August also in 2019.

“I fear they [BJP] could resort to some madness… They can stage an attack on the Shivram Mandir. They could even stage a murder of some important leader of their own party BJP,” Malik said in an interview. “They can do like that… they are quite capable of that. One who can [stage] Pulwama, can do everything,” he added.

Referring to the BJP style of politics, Malik said they [BJP] have scant regard for democracy. “They have no regard for the parliament. They are on the wrong path and it’s better for them to quit now,” he added. Malik ‘guaranteed’ that the BJP will not succeed in the 2024 polls.

The statement has rocked the political establishment of India. Malik has occasionally said that the prime minister is “ill-informed” and “ignorant” about Kashmir. He also believes that Indian Prime Minister Modi has no real problem with corruption. He said Modi, as a prime minister, told him not to speak about the Union home ministry’s lapses which led to the devastating terrorist attack on soldiers in Pulwama in February 2019.

While in the past, the allegations that the Indian establishment did the Pulwama attack were discussed in whispers, now all prominent figures openly voice their apprehension that the attack was not from Pakistan.
