LONDON: British police announced Friday that they have charged three people, including the father, with the murder of 10-year-old Sara Sharif who was found dead in her home last month.

Sharif was found with extensive injuries at her home in Woking, a city south-west of London, on 10 August. Her father Urfan Sharif, 41, his partner Beinash Batool, 29, and her uncle Faisal Malik, 28, have all traveled to Pakistan a day earlier.

Accused arrive back in Britain

However, they arrived back in the UK on Wednesday when they were deplaned from an aircraft from Dubai and were apprehended at London’s Gatwick Airport.

The three have reportedly been charged with murder and causing or permitting a child’s death, according to Surrey Police.

Later on Friday, they are scheduled to appear at Guildford Magistrate’s Court.

“Sara’s mother has been informed of this latest development and is being supported by specialist officers,” the police said in a statement.
