ISLAMABAD: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Sanjog Gupta as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Gupta is set to take the helm on July 7, 2025, as the ICC’s seventh CEO.
Announcing the appointment, ICC Chairman Jay Shah said, “Sanjog brings a rare blend of strategic insight, fan-focused innovation, and an enduring passion for the game. His understanding of both the global media ecosystem and the cricketing soul will be instrumental in driving our ambitions—including expanding cricket’s footprint and realising our Olympic dreams.”
ICC Nominations Committee
Gupta’s selection followed an extensive international search that drew over 2,500 applicants from 25 countries, reflecting the global significance of the role. After the process, the ICC Nominations Committee unanimously endorsed Gupta’s name—a decision that was later ratified by the full ICC Board.
Expressing his gratitude, Gupta said, “It’s an honour to lead cricket at such a transformative time. With the sport gaining momentum globally, fueled by technology, Olympic inclusion, and growing interest in the women’s game, I see immense potential ahead. I’m excited to collaborate with ICC Member Boards and partners to elevate cricket to new heights.”
