UTTAR PRADESH, INDIA: Sania Mirza, the daughter of an Indian mechanic from Uttar Pradesh, will become India’s first Muslim woman fighter pilot.
In National Defence Academy (NDA) exam, she secured 149th rank, making her way easier to fulfill her dreams of becoming a fighter pilot. Talking to Indian media, she said only two seats were reserved for the women in the fighter pilot wing. She failed to grab a seat on the first attempt. However, she managed to get a seat on the second attempt. She has become the pride of her family and her village Jasovar.
Her mother, Tabassum Mirza, said their daughter made them and the entire village proud. She fulfilled the dream of becoming the first Muslim woman fighter pilot. She motivated every girl in the town to follow their dreams.
Sania Mirza education
Sania Mirza studied in a Hindi-medium school till the 10th class. She is also a district topper in the 12th UP Board. She hopes other youngsters will be inspired by her and realize that studying in Hindi medium school is not a barrier.
She considers Flight Lieutenant Avani Chaturvedi as her inspiration, telling Flight Lieutenant Avani Chaturvedi inspired her to the point that she decided to join National Defence Academy (NDA). She said she hopes she will someday inspire the younger generation. Her father seconded her words, saying she had always wanted to be like Indian Air Force combat pilot Avani Chaturvedi. Sania Mirza is not only the first Muslim woman fighter pilot in the making, but she will also be the first Indian Air Force pilot from Uttar Pradesh.
