ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan of spreading chaos and confusion in the country and demanded that the country’s parliament give “complete powers” to law enforcement agencies to control “armed groups”.
He was speaking during the joint session of Parliament on a motion connected to issues of national importance including the law-and-order situation on Wednesday. The minister accused Imran Khan of marching on Islamabad with “armed groups” as workers of PTI fired bullets and stones at law enforcement agencies personnel. He claimed that not a single shot was fired by the police personnel at the PTI workers during the resistance.

Rana Sanaullah said Parliament had the duty to guide the nation in several affairs and would have to play a role to check the attempts by a party in creating a crisis in Pakistan. He added, “One man (Imran Khan) is trying to create a law-and-order problem along with his group,”.
The minister said that attempts are being made to create administrative and political crises, urging for Parliament’s guidance to solve these problems as well as give directions to overcome the current economic issues.
Sanaullah said Parliament is the supreme institution of the country and other institutions have their own responsibilities, domains, and authorities as per the constitution. Parliament has the power to alter the constitution and regulate the authority of other institutions in the country, the minister said. He urged the parliament to provide directions to all institutions on their basic roles in the current situation. He added, “There is no political and administrative crisis now but attempts are being made to create such problems which should be cramped,”. The minister further said that Imran Khan has been involved in creating unrest in the country for the last 10 years.
