ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s celebrated sufi and folk singer Sanam Marvi was recently announced as Spotify’s EQUAL Pakistan program’s ambassador for April.
Following the honour of the dynamic digital music service, the singer was featured on the billboard at Times Square in New York City.
Spotify said in an Instagram post that Times Square was in its Sufi era with SanamMarviMusic. Listen to her and other amazing females on the #EQUALPakistan playlist.
Marvi, known for her beautifully-pitched vocals, has ruled over the hearts and minds of Sufi music lovers worldwide for the past fourteen years.
Her stature in the world music landscape stands tall as she shines at the commercial and busiest intersection in the world.
Other Pakistani faces in Times Square
Several Pakistani musicians and singers have previously been featured at this location in the Big Apple.
Legendary singers including Nazia Hassan, Tina Sani, and Hadiqa Kiani have graced the digital billboards as the OGs of Pakistani music, while names that have recently garnered applause and showcased include Natasha Humera Ejaz, Momina Mustehsan, Natasha Noorani, and Hassan Raheem.
Meanwhile, the faces of young Coke Studio singers Shae Gill and Eva Baloch were also seen adorning the big billboard in New York.
