ISLAMABAD: Rumors swirl that Pakistani actor Sajal Aly is making a comeback in Bollywood with the upcoming film ‘Fauji’, where she might share the screen with Baahubali sensation Prabhas.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, renowned for his work on ‘Sita Rammam’, ‘Fauji’ is reportedly eyeing Sajal Aly for a key role. Sources close to the production reveal that the filmmakers sought a pan-Asian actress for a significant character.
Sajal Aly previously made a mark in the Indian film industry with her portrayal as Sridevi’s daughter in the 2017 film ‘Mom’. Her performance earned accolades just before the tragic passing of Sridevi in 2018, which deeply impacted Aly, who considered the veteran actress akin to a mother figure.
Despite her initial success, Sajal Aly has not actively pursued projects in India since ‘Mom’. Nevertheless, her acting prowess and on-screen charisma have maintained a devoted fan following overseas.
‘Fauji’, produced by Mythri Movie Makers, boasts a substantial budget indicative of a grand cinematic venture. Pre-production is reportedly progressing swiftly, with composer Vishal Chandrasekhar already crafting the film’s musical score, having recorded three songs to date.
The production’s scale is further underscored by the construction of expansive sets in and around Hyderabad. Rumors suggest that Prabhas is set to portray a British soldier in ‘Fauji’, hinting at an intriguing narrative dynamic.
