ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said on Tuesday that ensuring the protection and safety of Chinese personnel, projects, and programmes is a top priority for the Government of Pakistan.
Chairing a review meeting on CPEC Phase 2 and the 13th Joint Cooperation Committee in Islamabad, said that a comprehensive security strategy has been formulated, and Pakistan will take effective measures to safeguard Chinese nationals.
He emphasized the priority of starting the bidding process for the ML-1 project without delay and establishing a precise timeline for its timely initiation.
Regarding the Mineral Corridor, Ahsan Iqbal directed that efforts should be intensified to finalize the deal during the meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee of Pakistan and China.

Moreover, he instructed the organization of sub-working group meetings with Chinese officials to expedite discussions on the Mineral Corridor projects.
