Sacrifice and Valor: Tribute to Major Babar Niazi Shaheed

RAWALPINDI: Major Babar Niazi Shaheed, aged 36 and hailing from Mianwali District, made the ultimate sacrifice on May 14 during an intelligence-based operation against terrorists in the Sambaza area of Zhob district, Balochistan.

His valor and dedication to duty were evident as he bravely led his comrades in the fight against terrorism. The funeral prayers for Major Babar were solemnly offered in Zhob Cantt, attended by senior military and civil officers, along with representatives from the public and civil administration. His final resting place will be in his hometown, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors.

Major Babar’s courageous service in the Punjab Regiment of the Pakistan Army since his commissioning in 2012 exemplifies the noble tradition of armed forces. His tenure in the Frontier Corps Balochistan North further demonstrated his unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s peace and stability.

Leaving behind a grieving widow, a 3-year-old son, and bereaved parents, Major Babar’s sacrifice serves as a poignant reminder of the immense toll exacted by the ongoing war against terrorism. Yet, it also reinforces collective resolve to confront and defeat this scourge that threatens our homeland.

The Armed Forces of Pakistan remain steadfast in their determination to thwart any attempts by terrorists to undermine the peace and security of our nation. Major Babar Niazi Shaheed’s sacrifice will be forever remembered, inspiring generations to continue the fight until terrorism is eradicated from our beloved motherland.
