KYIV: Russia has launched a massive air strike over Ukraine, killing as many as 30 people and wounding over a hundred across the country in the fiercest attack since the first days of the conflict nearly two years ago, western media reported on Friday. Ukrainian officials said that a maternity hospital, Schools, shopping arcades and flats were among the compounds hit in the barrage.
The assaults — which also saw a Russian missile passing via Polish airspace — triggered global condemnation and fresh pledges of military help to Ukraine, which has been fighting off invading Russian forces since late February 2022.
Russian Strikes Kill 30 in Ukraine
In a statement, Ukraine’s leader President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Today Russia hit them with almost everything it has in its store. Ukraine’s army estimated that Russia have fired around 158 missiles and drones on Ukraine while 114 of them had been destroyed.
Russian Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat said that this was a “record number” of missiles and “the most massive missile assault” of the war, excluding the early days of constant bombing.
Interior Minister Igor Klymenko confirmed that around 30 people have been killed and over 160 injured as a result of Russia’s massive assault on Ukraine in the morning.

Russia’s military also confirmed that it had conducted around 50 group attacks and one massive assault on military facilities in Ukraine during the last week, saying that all targets were hit.” Similarly, Poland stated that a Russian missile also passed via its airspace.
