NEW YORK: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Saturday that Western nations through their support to Kyiv have effectively entered direct fighting against Russia.
Sergei Lavrov told a press conference at the UN, “You may call it anything as per your wish, but they (West) are fighting with us and we call it a hybrid war,”.
Russian Foreign Minister Accuses Western Countries of Direct Fighting in Ukraine
The Russian top diplomat pointed to the billions of dollars in Western military equipment supplied to Ukraine since Russia attacked in 2022, as well as British and US intelligence support.
Sergei Lavrov added that Western powers are “de facto fighting against Russia, using the hands and bodies of people of Ukraine,”.

He said that everyone knew the situation in Ukraine very well as Britons, Americans, and others were fighting, first of all, by providing more and more arms.
Sergei Lavrov also pointed to the existence in Ukraine of Western mercenaries. Ukraine President Zelensky has promoted a 10-point plan for ending the conflict but Lavrov mocked at Zelensky’s roadmap and condemned the US and EU for supporting it. He further said on ending the WAR, “Under these conditions, if they say it is on the battleground, then fine, it will be on the battleground.”
