STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN: A Twitter account operated by the Russian Embassy in Sweden posted a map marking Crimea as part of Ukraine.
Officially, Moscow claims the peninsula of southern Ukraine that extends into the Black Sea; Crimea, as part of Russia. Crimea was seized from Ukraine in the Russian invasion in 2014.
The Twitter account operated by Russian Embassy in Sweden Wednesday posted an image of Europe which marks Crimea — placed at the lower right — as part of Ukraine.
No comment from Russian Embassy yet
The map also appears to show the region in eastern Ukraine; Donbas which Russia claims, as part of Ukraine. The map was viewed 7.3m times as of the early morning hours of Ukrainian local time. It appears to be showing the per-liter cost of gasoline in European countries. The Russian embassy in Stockholm did not immediately respond to a media request for comments.
