MOSCOW: Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak will be visiting China next week leading a Russian delegation to participate in an inter-governmental commission on energy, said an official statement on Monday.
According to an official statement a delegation of up to 20 officials will visit China from December12-16.
China is one of Russia’s main trading partners and buys a bulk of Russian oil exports, which Moscow has redirected from Europe after sanctions imposed on Russia after the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022.

Russia also desires to enhance its natural gas supplies to China to around 100 billion cubic metres (bcm) per year by 2030 from more than 22 bcm likely to be shipped via pipeline in Siberia this year.
Moscow has been engaged in discussions with China over the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline, constructed to carry Russian natural gas from northern Siberia to China via Mongolia.
