MOSCOW, Russia: The Russian military announced it had intercepted and destroyed 47 Ukrainian drones overnight, with 24 of these shot down over the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine.
Other drones were destroyed near the Azov Sea and over regions close to Ukraine’s border. These drone strikes, often targeting energy infrastructure, have increased as part of Kyiv’s response to Russia’s ongoing bombardment of Ukrainian territory.
Kyiv aims to damage Russia’s energy sector, reducing the revenue Moscow uses to fund its ongoing military operations in Ukraine, now in its third year.
