MOSCOW: Russia has called for “collective action” to halt the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, advocating for an international conference to address the escalating violence that has resulted in the loss of thousands of Palestinian lives over the past month.
The Russian government also took the opportunity to criticize Western policies in the Middle East, emphasizing the need for a multilateral approach to resolving the conflict.
In an official statement released by Russia’s foreign ministry, Moscow expressed its active support for calls to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East through collective action. The statement highlighted the urgency of addressing the unprecedented violence in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone.
Russia’s Mediating Role in Israel-Palestine Conflict
The foreign ministry’s statement underscored the dangers of attempts to monopolize mediating functions, emphasizing that such efforts had historically led to further escalation rather than resolution. Russia advocated for a more inclusive and collaborative approach, pointing to the failure of unilateral initiatives in the past.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that Moscow is willing to play a mediating role in the conflict, positioning Russia as a potential mediator in the ongoing crisis.
