MOSCOW: In a recent development, the Russian Defence Ministry reported that they scrambled fighter jets to intercept two US B-1B strategic bombers and a Global Hawk drone as they approached Russia’s northern and southern borders.
This incident occurred over the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, respectively.
The Russian response involved the dispatch of single Su-37 fighter jets to engage with both the US bombers and the drone. Fortunately, these intercepts led to the US aircraft pivoting away from the Russian border, averting any potential escalation.
