ISLAMABAD: In an announcement on Wednesday, Moscow revealed that it was rolling out free training for unemployed Russians to work in the country’s defense industry. The sector is under intensifying pressure since the Russian leadership deployed troops to Ukraine.
The Russian government on its website, stated that those Russians who are seeking employment will be able to take free vocational courses or receive extra vocational training for further employment at companies linked to the military-industrial complex.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the decree which allocates 8.6 million euros to train as many as 12,000 people, according to an AFP report.
Free training to fill need for defense sector specialists
According to the government’s press service, the move will aid defense industry firms to fill the need for specialists and will help Russians find work faster.
On numerous occasions, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has urged industry leaders to increase the manufacture of ammunition for military use in Ukraine.
As per official figures, in order to meet the growing demand for Russia’s military in Ukraine, about one-third of the 2023 federal budget has been set aside for defense and security expenditures.
