MOSCOW: Foreign Ministry of Russia on Sunday strongly condemned an Israeli air strike on the Syrian city of Damascus and its surroundings and termed the strike a blatant violation of international law.
The Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Russia strongly urge the Israeli side to immediately stop armed provocations against Syria and avoid steps that are fraught with dangerous consequences for the entire region.
Israel strikes building in Damascus
Officials and witnesses said early on Sunday an Israeli rocket strike hit a building in the Kafr Sousa neighbourhood near a large, highly secured complex close to Iranian installations. Witnesses said that five people were killed in the Israeli strike.
