MOSCOW: The Russian defense ministry announced on Sunday that its forces had successfully targeted a fortified commander post of Ukraine’s “East” air defense and alerting center in the central city of Dnipro.
The statement indicated that the strikes were carried out using a combination of operational-tactical and army aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces, and artillery, Reuters news agency reported.
Earlier on the same day, Ukraine’s air force reported that Russia launched 12 drones and a cruise missile overnight, with Ukrainian air defense systems successfully intercepting and destroying 10 drones before they could reach their intended targets.
Russia Claims Targeting Fuel Depots in Ukraine
In addition to the reported strike in Dnipro, Russia’s defense ministry, in its daily dispatch, claimed to have targeted fuel depots in the areas of Myrhorod in the Poltava region, an ammunition arsenal in the Mykolaiv region, and manpower and equipment in 107 various districts.
The ongoing conflict has seen both sides engaging in a war of words and accusations, with each party providing divergent accounts of the situation on the ground.
