Russia-China Begin Joint Naval Drill in Sea of Japan

MOSCOW: Russia and China on Saturday started their joint naval military drill in the Sea of Japan.

“A joint group of warships of the Pacific Fleet and the Chinese Navy sailed from Vladivostok to conduct a joint Russian-Chinese naval exercise Beibu/Interaction – 2024,” the press service of the Russian Pacific Fleet in a statement said.

Servicemen before leaving the naval base, attended an opening ceremony during which military chiefs from both sides were also present.

The exercise will last for one week and the servicemen of the two countries will train in repelling an attack by a simulated enemy from the water, air and underwater environment, as well as maneuvering.

The crews of the ships will also conduct artillery firing and different combat exercises using anti-aircraft and anti-submarine weapons.
