Rupee Continues Upward Trend Against US Dollar

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee on Wednesday maintained its upward momentum for the ninth consecutive session against the US dollar in the interbank market.

As the market reopened, the local currency gained Rs1.74 against the greenback, managing to settle at Rs223.90 interbank market.

Yesterday, PKR closed at Rs225.64 against the US dollar in interbank market, gaining Rs1.65 by appreciation of 0.51 percent.

Earlier this week, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar assured the nation that with the help of his policies, he would soon bring down the dollar to below 200.
