Rupee Continues Declining for Fifth Consecutive Day Against US dollar

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee fell by 16 paisas to close at Rs224.11 versus the US dollar during interbank trade on Tuesday.

Earlier, the rupee declined by one paisa to Rs223.95 versus the US dollar on Monday. Meanwhile, the rupee’s spot rate was reported to fall by two paisas on Friday. During interbank trade, the rupee fell 11 paisas to Rs223.92 versus the US dollar.

The rupee’s decline versus the US dollar began on Wednesday, following a minor rally the day before. With economic uncertainty, the rupee has lost five straight sessions in the interbank market but has held within Rs223.
